With a special focus on style, quality and value, we combine natural plant waxes with exquisite fragrances and essential oils to create our range of decorative and eco-friendly candles.

The Soy Candle Company sprang from a love of candlelight, a natural ethos, a code of integrity, and some good old fashioned Kiwi ingenuity.

Our promise is to craft beautiful yet understated décor inspired by vitality and well-being.

A look back in time...
The origin of candles actually dates back to the Egyptians. But it was the Roman people who invented the modern wick candle. The Romans made their candles from a natural resource called tallow. Bees wax was used in the middle ages, then as little as 100 years ago, paraffin wax was introduced as a cheap alternative. But few consumers are actually aware that Pariffin is a by product of the petroleum refining industry and contains 11 toxins including 2 well known carcinogens. Thank fully we now have natural plant waxes available and can make healthier, more informed choices when purchasing candles.

Today there is a wide range of candles in the market place. We delight in the knowledge that our products help preserve the planet for future generations, even if it means paying a little more for them.  When it comes to our style; we hope to do some justice to the ancient peoples' legacy of  beauty, luxury and ambiance.
