• In this rapidly growing industry, the quality of soy waxes out there are varied. Many soy candles on the market today, actually contain a plethora of undisclosed ingredients that make them cheaper to produce.
  For example: Pillar candles are not able to be made of soy wax alone; they must be blended with something like paraffin. So any  representations of that nature are false. In our case Pillar candles are made of palm wax.
  
  At The Soy Candle Company we use the purest natural Soy wax available - all the components of this wax come from the plant itself. We guarantee that it contains NO GMO material, NO paraffin, NO unnatural additives and is Kosher certified.

• The only candle manufacturing country with a ban on wicks containing lead is the USA. So be careful when buying candles to burn in a confined space. If inhaled, lead is potentially harmful to the central nervous system. The Soy Candle Company uses only 100% LEAD FREE cotton wicks.
• Soy and Palm waxes are not produced anywhere in New Zealand or Australia.
  We import our waxes from sustainably run family enterprises in the USA and Malaysia. Our palm wax is sourced from regions that are not involved in the destruction of rain-forests or important habitats. We deal only with businesses that are part of the round table on sustainable palm oil. This organization was founded by The World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature and heads of government and industry involved in Palm cultivation.
  
  
• Beware of fragrances that are portrayed as botanical thus giving the impression that they are natural. Fragrances are not natural they are chemically produced in a laboratory. So unless they say 100% natural, they are not.
  Our fragrances are developed and handmade here in New Zealand to be asthma and allergy friendly. This New Zealand owned fragrance company has over 50 years experience in perfumery. We also have a range of 100% natural botanical oil blends which are especially lovely for massaging and moisturising the melt pool into skin.
